This is a great movie. Nice scenery in Paris and a well written script dealing with philosophical ideas as well as day to day. If you are a looking for an action packed movie stay away, this is one that you need to listen to what they say and think about it later. A very short movie at 80 minutes. Ethan Hawk, you look like a meth addict in this movie!!!

Since this is a Richard Linklater movie, it's got to be about humans of the "slacker" persuasion. In other words, you have two dorks endlessly babbling dime-store sentiments and philosophy. The only reason I lasted to the end was the faint hope that Delpy would freak out and stab Hawke with an ice pick. Needless to say, my hopes were dashed.

Do you like dialogue in movies? I mean REALLY like dialogue? Because that's all "Before Sunset" is. Two characters talking for 80 minutes. If you saw "Before Sunrise," this will come as no surprise. Set nearly a decade after the original, the two characters reunite in Paris where Ethan Hawke is on a book tour. Then they talk a lot while wandering around Paris, which, like Vienna in the first film, functions as almost a third character. I don't find either actor very interesting or appealing, nor is much of what they say all that great, so I got bored quickly despite my affection for the director Richard Linklater. Followed by "Before Midnight."

Paris...two people who were meant to be together, but dis-connected and then found each other again...a real-time conversation about who they were, who they are, what their lives are like. Hawke and Delpy are mesmerizing to watch.

I've seen the first one, and I liked it. But this one was so much better! I felt like the characters were a bit more real. I loved it when Julie Delpy sang and started dancing around her apartment. I loved that even though hey kind of had, they didn't sit around waiting for each other for 9 years and had moved on to other people, even though they hadn't really. I just loved it. Would definitely recommend!

Didn't see the first one but asked that the library order it and they I'll see it next. Doesn't matter, the sexual tension throughout the movie is unreal! The honesty between them towards the end is part of the tension and all the better for it. Had never even heard of this trilogy and sorry I didn't. I recommend it w/o hesitation.

What is perhaps lost on most people is that this movie is deeply spiritual but not in the western monotheistic sense. This movie hints at aspects of Buddhism, suffering of the ego and presence. I loved this movie!!!!

Better then the first but I think it's only because the movies compliment each other well. Had I not watched them together, I don't think I would have liked them at all.

Celine: Do I look any different?
[long pause]
Celine: I do?
Jesse: I'd have to see you naked.

Jesse: In the months leading up to my wedding, I was thinking about you all the time. I mean, even on my way there; I'm in the car, a buddy of mine is driving me downtown and I'm staring out the window, and I think I see you, not far from the church, right? Folding up an umbrella and walking into a deli on the corner of 13th and Broadway. And I thought I was going crazy, but now I think it probably was you.
Celine: I lived on 11th and Broadway.
Jesse: You see?
