Add a CommentInspite of the historical background and period details, it drags and the characters are not relatable. I was unable to finish this.
I absolutely loved this book! I'm very sorry the previous reviewer didn't care for it, but I thought it was a very quick, intriguing and entertaining read. Cottam's descriptions of events and places set up a truly creepy tone that was perfect for the plot. The characters were all well-developed and interesting. I highly recommend this book if you like ghost stories!
This book was soooo bad! It was only 343 pages, but it felt like 3,000 pages! His descriptions were so boring and dry, but added nothing to the actual plotline. He spent so much time explaining the streets of the cities the characters were in that the climactic ending was just crammed into about 6 pages. I do not recommend. When explaining the story to my husband I realized how many plot holes, continuity errors and just too many vague references that were never explained or tied up in the end. It was horrible.
