Great read for kids about growing up and growing up with those lovely wires and brackets in your mouth called braces. Some lovely, and not so lovely, flashbacks on this end from being a 'braceface' but it was lots of fun. A lot of content is covered in barely over 200 pages but it never seems rushed or crammed, and it passes by probably just as fast as kids wish that sort of time would pass!

smile is definitely a teenager book showing how to get through things that your never going to agree with or even might get picked on for but in the end u are going to get through it and know for sure it was all worth going through the pain and this is a book that many teenage both boys and girls should read and also the 2nd book drama i recemend it

I love Raina Telegemier and her books!
Smile and Drama are so good, can't wait to read Sisters!

The back: Raina just wants to be a normal sixth grader. but one night after Girl Scouts she trips and falls, severely injuring her two front teeth. What follows is a long and frustrating journey with on-again, off-again braces, surgery, embarrassing headgear, and even a retainer with fake teeth attached(!). And on top of all that, there's still more to deal with: a major earthquake, boy confusion, and friends who turn out to be not so friendly. Raina's story takes us from middle school to high school, where she discovers her artistic voice, finds out what true friendship really means, and where she can finally...smile.
