Love, loss, betrayal, war, family drama - this story has it all. A sprawling, epic tale that encompasses the best and worst of human behaviour, set in the time of the Russian revolution. Unforgettable!

Essential reading for anyone interested in Soviet literary history. Although hard to follow at times (even if you're familiar with Russian names), it's an engrossing story too.
