Add a CommentI disagree. I was thrilled to see this book in the library! Sadly, I had just thrown away an old, cracked goldfish bowl from my childhood, then I thought I can recycle it! You can use old mason jars, vases and candle holders. I found Home Depot has better prices and selection of succulents than the nearby nursery. (They also had cacti) I looked for pots with several stalks then separated the roots. The small size was $3 and one had three plants in it! With shells gathered over the years (and kids rock collections) we made terrariums for Easter presents. The Jade plant I bought had so many divisions I had leftovers. So, we found more glass vessels in other basements and made more for an upcoming auction. Shortly after that Hobby Lobby had their vases and floral glass half off. Needless to say we made more! :) ps: I read that succulents start with only one leaf. So, when I was trimming my plants to be symmetrical I saved the leaves and stuck them in a little pot of dirt. Still waiting to see if works. Bottom line is you can a nice terrarium for $5!
Beautiful terrariums, decent written descriptions for how to put them together. But the objects to purchase or find to put the terrariums together would be super expensive. As beautiful as this art piece is, it's not a budget based terrarium craft book.
