I can only tolerate stupid characters if they're kind and don't mess things up too badly. Case in point: I get SO ANNOYED with Amelia Bedelia and Sideways Stories from Wayside School. But Mr. and Mrs. Bunny are just dense enough that they don't do any REAL damage; they're just kind of bumbling and charming and have lovely hats.
