This book knocked me out, it's so powerful, about how one bad choice can ruin so many lives and how people can make those fatal choices when they're not happy with their lives, even when they appear to have it all. Acting out on hormones can be when the biggest and most selfish mistakes are made, and all for nothing in this case. It also made me wonder if people are damaged permanantly from awful things in their pasts, or if it's a choice they make, to stay damaged or use the past as an excuse. Either way, I didn't much like the damaged character Anna, or have much sympathy for her, despite her past. It was an excellently written book and very good movie, starring Jeremy Irons, one of my favourite actors. Sadly, this author has passed away recently.
