The Luck Uglies

This book will take you on an adventure as you follow Rye through the hidden world of Village Drowning. I loved the detail and description of all of the magical creatures and thought that the story line was very fun and imaginative. This would be a great book for a dad-daughter read-aloud. I highly recommend it for kids interested in fantasy!

Wonderfully done. The world created is as tangible as they come without any tedium to the world-building process. A real sense of magic and legend, enchantment, mystery, and danger. There is both action and depth. And, of course, a protagonist that is easy to identify with and encourage, as we join her on her journey of discovery. Highly recommended.

There's danger around every little corner, and it's a story that keeps you thinking about what will happen next.
