Opinion

From Library Staff

Hansberry took the title of her play from a line in “Harlem,” one of Harlem Renaissance poet Langston Hughes’ most famous works. (Re)discover his poetry in this comprehensive collection.

If you think all of Langston Hughes' poems were serious and / or politically motivated (most of them were), there are quite a few in this book that will crack you up - some fun for fun's sake, others that pushed the limit for its time. Certainly one of the most important poets of the 20th century, whose work left a print that is still noticeable to this day.
