These CDs are making Greek a joy to learn. I've never learned a language this way. Their strategy is to present a basic situation between two people, and drill the vocab and pronunciation into your brain through a lot of repetition. Each lesson they throw just a few new words at you, so it's not overwhelming.

I admit I thought it was sort of silly, until I realized that it took almost zero effort for me to retain what I had learned. From lesson to lesson, I was recalling the words and grammar very easily. I have also been supplementing what I've learned by using Google Translate to write the words down. As a result, I was able to learn the alphabet quickly.

My learning companion was having a bit more trouble with this series, because she really wants to be able to see what she is learning in front of her. I guess it all depends on how your brain works.
