Oof. Author spoofed James bond, middle east fighting & oil. Problem that Parthians controlled Persian Empire in 50 BC & at least two civilizations went extinct.
Course, Asterix & Obelix were idiots on crossing the desert at day. Better to do at night & sleep in day.
Villain stupidly didn't tell critical information early & the Roman legions paid for it. Too bad!
Roman factionalism was there as Late Republic ,but it was more pronounced in Roman Empire
You bet Caesar was cross on intelligence failure.
