A television show about two very unique cliques of teenagers dealing with life in a high school during the 1980's. The show covers everything that you remember from high school that you may have chosen to forget.

Freaks and Geeks is an American teen comedy-drama television series that aired on NBC during 1999–2000.
I never seen the original airing, but heard of it mentioned for years in articles. Great to finally watch it.
It depicts average suburban teenage life in the early 1980s, and is definitely accurate.
Since it was on TV, and not a movie like Dazed and Confused, the language could not be as colorful as it should have been.
You will recognize many of the actors. Many became well known after this.
Some were already famous (eg. Joe Flaherty as the father,Harold Weir).
Great rock soundtrack. Very nice it wasn't tampered with (eg. for example, the WKRP dvd sets).
Unfortunately, the HPL copy is getting worn out, and sometimes the screen freezes.

Really dated picture of high school. The family scenes are insipid. I was hoping for a good series but was completely bored by it. At least it didn't cost me any money.

Great show about kids trying to figure out who they are in a stereotypically average middle class high school situation of the 1980s.

Freaks and Geeks is a fun and charming show that is eerily accurate about 1980's teenagers. This cancelled-too-soon gem is not to be missed. It's also notable for being the first major role for a few of today's popular actors, including James Franco and Seth Rogen.

One of the 2 best TV series about High School ever made. Great story lines. Alternates between comedy and drama seamlessly. Manages to be dark and edgy without profanity or nudity. Great use of classic rock songs to make it feel like 1980 (the year the characters live in).

Never saw it when originally aired but checked it out from CALS. I LOVED IT! It was the Wonder Years with a deeper and more poignant side to it. Kudos to the library for making it available.

I had forgotten how much I loved this classic series until I saw it at the library, borrowed it and watched it again. The cameos are a like a who's who of Hollywood heavyweights these days. I find it so very sad when shows like the Bachelor and 2 and a half men last for 10 seasons and pure genius comedy like this Judd Apatow show don't last their first season on air.

One of my all-time favorite TV series. Great music, great characters, great writing. You don't have to be either a freak or a geek to love this show about finding your place in the world.

Brilliant TV show that showcases young talent that go on to do amazing things. Brutally honest, painfully funny, and achingly real.
