This is a great movie. Now I wonder why they had to go and ruin it in this remastered edition by dubbing over in Italian the original Italian actors. That way, you get to hear the same couple of dubbers speaking all the male and female parts in Italian, plus you have to read the subtitles in English. Outrageous!
In the commentary on the 2nd disc, Wertmuller says she wanted the actors to speak in all the various dialects of Italy. Maybe they dubbed over into standard Italian?

Brilliant, audacious film from Lina Wertmuller and her favorite star, Giancarlo Giannini -- who is mesmerizing. Riveting from the opening montage (with its wry, ironic narration) to the last image of the survivor.
