Off-season? No problem.

Temperatures are dropping, we’ve turned back the clocks, and it’s safe to say that summer is long behind us. But that doesn’t mean the opportunity for travel has passed us by. In fact, there are several reasons why it’s advantageous to plan travel during the off-season.

As you might expect, the link to Christmas with a Nature episode is pretty weak. The focus is on winter in Yellowstone, so it's fine for viewing beyond the holiday season. The episode has some wonderful footage. Unfortunately, I was a little distracted at times by the narrator Linda Hunt's voice. It would have been better for another episode, but seemed too formal in contrast to the rugged wilderness of Yellowstone. Christmas at Yellowstone is also available through Hennepin County Library as part of Nature's 2-episode Yellowstone set.

I am not an outdoorsy person but I love watching Christmas in Yellowstone. The scenery and sounds in the wintertime are beautiful to see and hear. The fox, otters, birds, bears, elk, wolves and coyotes try to survive another hard winter. Also included on this disc In The Valley of the Wolves- I watched a few minutes of it and that was enough. Not a big fan of watching animals fight and that is why I like Christmas in Yellowstone - it does not show fighting or killing of animals.
