Pretty much everyone from British stage and screen in 1974 was in this series. Fall of Eagles kicks the great European royal houses when they were down; and why not? They did plenty of kicking, when they themselves were powerful. Stand-out performances include Patrick Stewart as Lenin, Charles Kay as Nicholas II, and Barry Foster as the ultimate Kaiser Wilhelm II. In addition to drama, there is humour, but never quite when you think. Partly filmed on location; partly videotaped on studio sets. I hope you don't find that too shocking. Additional fun: each episode had a different (and accomplished) writer, and therefore each episode is slanted somewhat differently.
