Miss Marple visits her old school friend Lady Tressilian at the formidable aristocrat's Devon estate. Eyebrows arch higher when the dashing Wimbledon tennis star Nevile Strange arrives with his attractive but high maintenance new wife. Nevile's first wife is also attending. Miss Marple observes the tightly wound group as they holiday by the sea, sensing the sexual tensions and unresolved jealousies that lead to murder.

This was a good, unpredictable mystery that kept me thinking. Tom Baker gave an excellent performance! Even though his role is one of the smaller ones, it is also one of the most important.

Geraldine McEwan is both astute and subtle in this murder mystery. Also one of my favorite actresses is in it, Saffron Burrows, so I enjoyed this episode very much.

"Towards zero" has another cast of oddballs under a single roof. How any of them can face their mirror is beyond me. Someone has to get murdered and they do. Sadly I am now old enough to remember when Tom Baker was Doctor Who and did not have to take complimentary television roles. Miss Marple loves irritating young police inspectors with her "did you notice this?, did you see that?". Who will be the next Miss Marple and how many years will it be. And Agatha Christie always has such antiseptic murders.
