There’s no substitute for seeing the High Priestess of Soul perform her spellbinding songs live. Filmed for a Dutch television program, these concerts include “Mississippi Goddam” and “Brown Baby,” both featured in NINA SIMONE: FOUR WOMEN.

Back in her heyday (1955-1970), African-American jazz singer and pianist, Nina Simone (1933-2003) was seriously considered to be the "High Priestess of Soul".

Filmed in b&w - This 1-hour "Icons of Jazz" DVD showcases Simone (accompanied by bass, drums, and guitar) in 2 live performances (first in Holland (1965) and, then, in England (1968)).

(*Note*) - In 2003 - Nina Simone (70 at the time) died of breast cancer.

A terrific concert; with many catchy and moving songs; top notch musicality from the band; lots of great songs in a great performance.
