It's been a decade since Ben and Andrew were the bad boys of their college campus. Ben has settled down and found a job, wife, and home. Andrew took the alternate route as a vagabond artist, skipping the globe from Chiapas to Cambodia. When Andrew shows up unannounced on Ben's doorstep, they easily fall back into their old dynamic of macho one-upmanship. Late into the night at a wild party, the two find themselves locked in a mutual dare: to enter an amateur porn contest together. But what kind of boundary-breaking, envelope pushing porn can two straight dudes make? After the booze and "big talk" run out, only one idea remains--they will have sex together on camera. It's not gay; it's beyond gay. It's not porn; it's art. But how exactly will it work? And more importantly, who will tell Anna, Ben's wife?

This is one of those times in which you think that you have been really wasting 90min of your life. The story, script and dialogues are of low quality and uninteresting and the actors quite mediocre.

What a colossal failure of nerve. Though touted as a mumblecore challenge to all those Judd Apatow films in which homosocial refuses to lead to homoerotic, this in fact reaffirms the status quo. How comforting that two straight dudes cannot even FATHOM how they can turn each other on. So, this piece of tripe has it both ways...enlightened because it allows for the possibility of men's friendships leading to sexuality, and finally, reassuring because it denies that it's really a possibility.

wanting to see Lynn Shelton's work did not make this one worth the effort. I guess the premise is meaningful to someone - just not me.

This movie is not one that makes you laugh out loud a whole lot, but it is a good, substantial movie about friendship and relationships, aging and the weird arsed situations we get ourselves into sometimes.

"Phenomenally Funny!" the cover reads. I felt it had a few moments, but hardly warrants that claim. The acting was fresh and believable, but couldn't save the poorly concieved plot. It dwindles down to a wimpy ending with the two leading men nervously clutching pillows to their bodies in a motel room, while admitting that they really weren't into it (making a porn movie) after all... My review?-Don't bother

this is one of those (local) how to make a movie, movie. it moves well. professionally shot (focussed, not grainy, even sound projection etc...)

in closing, ya know when, on tv or w/friends, someone says "once in college I experimented w/that". this is one of those movies and interestingly enough it will catch surprise or it did me.

Good – Humpday (2009) 94 min. What a horrible title for a film that really has nothing to do with the name it implies. The film is more about a married man who is about to start a family, feels trapped and decides to do something that demonstrates that he’s still free and in control. I’ll leave it up to you to find out what that act is but note the reaction of the wife - it’s priceless. The film does illicit feelings of discomfort emitted by the characters which will transcend to the viewer; which is the charm of the film.
