The Murder of Roger Ackroyd stands out for the acting of Oliver Ford Davies as Doctor Shepard and Selina Cardel as his snoopy sister Caroline. Both characters fit right along with their portrayals in the novel. My one criticism is that when the knife penetrates the neck/jugular of Roger Ackroyd there is no spurting, gushing of blood, just a little blood. We know from forensics that lots and lots of blood come out of a knife wound to the neck. None of Christie's victims has even so much as a stain or release of any body fluid. So clean are her murder victim's bodies.
