Amazing on audiobook narrated by Rob. As someone who grew up in the 80's and had a poster of The Outsiders in my bedroom - this was such a fantastic narrative of true Hollywood from a guy who considered himself not one of the cool kids...hard to believe but true. Hearing Rob poke fun at his younger self is priceless.

I'm about the same age as RL, so this was a fun one for me. I listened to the audiobook during daily walks and found myself taking our dog for an extra walk every evening just so I could listen more! Interesting stories about the hard work (and the perks) of being part of the "Brat Pack" -- told with intelligence, humor and humble self-perspective. Hearing RL's voice tell the stories is the perfect finishing touch.

Star-filled and surprisingly introspective memoirs from the star of the West Wing and 30 Rock. A behind-the-scenes look at Lowe's rise to stardom.

I ended up liking this book a lot more than I thought I would, largely because of Lowe's candor and his great narrative style.

Typical "Hollywood Bio" but did have some interesting bits. He's not a bad writer, no ghost writer mentioned. If you're "of an age" (as I am) you will find this interesting.

I'm waiting for this book to come in so that I can read it. I know he talks about The Outsiders in it, so I want to read what that experience was like. Most people only know what it was like for C. Thomas Howell and Matt Dillon.

Enjoyed this book more than some of his newer books. Very entertaining autobiography.

This book begins with an interesting "montage"/meditation on celebrity and death and shows the ups and downs of a life in the spotlight. Rob Lowe is heartfelt and funny and seems to be writing a cautionary tale from the point of view of a parent and friend. I laughed out loud and learned a few things, too.

Fantastic, amazing..yeah. And he's a very good looking guy! ;P
But on a serious note, I teared up at some parts (last page in The Outsiders' chapters) and laughed at others. Overall, very well written and beautiful autobio.

I reccomend that you read this. I was very surprised with this book. Well written. Very interesting to read, I would think for all ages. I look forward to his next book, if he writes one.

A fun read: fast-paced, engaging--in other words, a good summer book. It's not *War and Peace* or an in-depth self-analysis (although there's some of that), but you do get a feel for the man and, likely, the brighter side of his development as a man and as an actor.

After more than 30 years in Hollywood, Rob Lowe is coming clean. From his days as a teen heartthrob to life on the set of The West Wing, Rob is holding nothing back in his can't-put-it-down autobiography, Stories I Only Tell My Friends.

In this juicy page-turner, Rob shares revealing celebrity scoop, sexual escapades—with women like actress Melissa Gilbert and Princess Stéphanie of Monaco—and dark secrets. He even opens up about his recovery from alcohol addiction and the explosive sex tape scandal that sent him into hiding.

At age 47, Rob says he decided to sit down and write about his highs, his lows and his enduring love for the woman he says helped save his life. "One of the gifts of writing is you learn things," he says. "And I learned the real reason I'm writing this book now is because it's hopefully a handbook for my children to understand Dad."
