Broken Tail was a charismatic tiger cub in Ranthambore, one of India's best-protected tiger reserves. He suddenly and without warning abandoned his sanctuary and went on the run moving through farmland and scrub until he was killed by a train nearly 200 miles from its home. This film retraces the tiger's path and piece together the cub's last days, and through his story reveal the fate of the few surviving tigers in India.

A sad but pertinent film. Perhaps the saddest thing that jumped out at me, is that the show is about Broken Tail, whose body was found, and not Slant Ear, whose body was not...

While we know the ending of this tiger's life, this is a very well done and tasteful documentary. This points the direction for how our lives impact endangered species. This tiger, has personality, which is nice to see, too. There is a message of hope.

This is an excellent resource on the plight of the tiger. There are approximately only 1400 tigers left in the world and most of them live in India. This documentary talks about some of the conditions that tigers live in - national parks where mining is allowed to continue; no corridors between the national parks to allow for movement; poaching/poisoning problems; population living in amongst the national parks etc. It's a very heart-warming movie but in the end very sad. Salim Ali, the guide, is a friend of mine. I have learned much about tigers and how difficult it will be to save these magnificent animals.
