"A documentary movie about climate change SOLUTIONS. Even if you doubt the severity of the impact of climate change or just don't buy it at all, this is still a compelling and relevant film that illustrates how SOLUTIONS to climate change also address other social, economic and national security issues"--Publisher website.

this film is from a very american perspective. there are many speakers from the US military and government. There is even a part where they show if they insulated the tents in the deserts of Iraq, they could air condition them with less oil in the generators to provide the less energy than a standard tent needs. IMO climate solutions will not come from inside the US military, they are responding to different incentives than a person who pays for their own energy and makes the environment their passion. It is strange to see a dvd like this in a Canadian Library

Wow! Riveting documentary. Was a real pleasure to watch. Fact-filled, accessible, interesting, solutions-oriented, introduced all sorts of people and technologies which focus on new ways of doing things. A plethora of fascinating models of success in generating and conserving energy from people in all walks of life. Showed how this sector could generate a lot of jobs while simulanteously being good for the environment, economy and self-suffciency. It's time people become more informed and pressure politicians to consider all options, and not just sell out to the big oil industry. Also showed how each and every person could make small modifications in their lives to affect real change. Should also be required viewing from grade 7 and up.
