i really enjoyed this series. all the characters are interesting and distinctive although it seems to me that european police mysteries often need a buffoon in there somewhere as a regular. plus it's set in VENICE where the police officers arrive at crime scenes in snappy little police speed boats. so not only do you get a decent plot and convincing actors, you get to spend a couple of hours with them in Venice, arguably the prettiest city in the world, while sitting in front of your TV. Commissario Brunetti was played by two different actors over the series and i prefer the later one but they're both good.

It is very anti Catholic, and boring. Poorly made.

e7 featured the city's churches and e8 show-cased a flooded Venice. Felt like a Venetian old-timer after watched these episodes.
