Movie Mondays: Looking for a new TV series?
Today’s Movie Monday column is focusing on television. Why? Because many people regard the past ten years as a new Golden Age of television. From Six Feet Under and The Sopranos, through The Wire and to Breaking Bad and Mad Men, both critics and the public see the writing contemporary on cable TV programs as good, if not better, than contemporary cinema. Below are three new TV shows that I ha (more)
Movie Mondays: I See Doubles Everywhere
Have you noticed a number of recent movies about doubles and doppelgängers lately? Could it be a product of the Internet Age, where our online personas act as doppelgängers, as this article in The Atlantic suggests? Is there new interest in existentialism among the philosophically curious? Or is it just a coincidence? Whatever the case may be, check out these four new films that will have you (more)

''Scientists who's God is progress A four-headed sheep is their latest project The CIA runnin' like that Jones from Indiana But they still won't talk about that Jones in Guyana This ain't no cartoon No one slips on bananas Do you really think that that car killed Diana Hell I shot Ronald Reagan, I shot JFK, I slept with Marilyn (Monroe) she sung me happy birthday!''
Interesting script. The acting is good. Watching the first season is entertaining. But, then nothing new.
Tatiana Maslany, wow! Believe all the hype; she is amazing in this. The acting is great all around and non-stop action. I can't wait to pick up the next season.
OK - you've got me interested! Past the amazement of one actress playing so many roles convincingly that you have to remind yourself that it is the same actress, kudos to the casting crew who found men and woman (actually, there are other female actresses involved...oh, wait, just one other or so?) who breathe incredible life into an other wise slow moving plot that picks up as this season ends.
Keep an open mind and you will be rewarded with thrills and laughs
Loved it! It's like Run Lola Run meets Bourne Supremacy meets Dollhouse meets Coma meets Alias. Some minor glitches but not with the main actress. The writers seem to forget sometimes that accents, monetary amounts, and expressions should be location specific. Off to a slow start it picks up around the 3rd or 4th episode.
I was a bit iffy on this series at first but I really got into as it went on. Like how they are able to make it entertaining by using the same character as many different ones.
Tatiana Maslany is the primary reason to watch this, along with mind-boggling technical execution to film multiple clones in a single scene. Also Season 2 does not disappoint....so get in line for that as well.
AW SH***! WE GOTS SOME CLONES UP IN HERE!!

What have we been watching?
If you liked The Office or Seinfeld you will probably enjoy the good-hearted nature of the comedy in New Girl. Quirky characters and plots, the lead star and new girl, Jess, played by Zooey Deschanel, is sure to win your heart.
I recently picked up The Newsroom and was swept up by the fast-paced dialogue and drama. Another hit HBO series, directed by Aaron Sorkin (The Social Network), and starring Jeff Daniels and Emily Mortimer.
Orphan Black is a fast-moving thriller set in Toronto, featuring one fantastic actress playing 6 roles. If you like British-style grittiness, scientific shenanigans, and edge-of-your-seat viewing this edgy drama may be your thing.
