If you are interested in knowing about the life and career of psychedelic guitarist extraordinaire, Jimi Hendrix, then, this well-presented bio-documentary is certain to hold your rapt attention from start to finish.

Even though Hendrix only lived for but a brief time (1943-1970) his overall impact on hard rock music is still very much an influence today, 50 years after his untimely death at the age of 27.

Through numerous stills, archival footage, and interviews with family, friends, and fellow musicians - "Hear My Train A-Comin'" paints a very respectful portrait of this highly inspirational pioneer of stylized guitar-playing and of versatile showmanship.

When it comes to the realm of super-flashy guitar playing - There can be no denying the phenomenal influence that Jimi Hendrix' awesome skills on the fret-board have continually had on rock guitarists even 50 years after his death (in 1970) at the youthful age of 27.

Born (1943) in Seattle, Washington, USA - Jimi Hendrix was, without question, one of the most inspiring figures of 1960s psychedelic rock, bar none. Without Hendrix, perhaps, the genre of "heavy metal" may have never been fully realized. Who knows?

Anyway - If you are at all interested in knowing more about the short life and turbulent times of Hendrix, then, this 2-hour, in-depth bio-documentary is certainly worth a view.

Jimi was truly a genius. I didn't know he came from such humble beginnings. That's why it's so important to encourage children. You never know what they will become. Such a loss to the world.

Wow!

I've heard all his music - a lot.

But I'd never seen any live performances - Wow!

A very interesting video biography. It shows the path Jimi Hendrix took, starting from meager roots, to later post the number 1 pop-chart rock and roll single, "All Along the Watchtower", several top selling albums, and headlining one of the highest earning rock and roll bands on the road. It also shows his tendency towards obsessive perfectionism, which played a part in his story not ending well. Included is some excellent bonus material: a dozen or more classic live Hendrix performances, including full length selections of Purple Haze and Watchtower. Recommended.
