Ain't It Time We Said Goodbye
The Rolling Stones on the Road to ExileBook - 2014
In March of 1971, The Rolling Stones announced they were about to go into tax exile in the south of France and embarked upon a farewell tour of Great Britain. For ten days on that tour they traveled by train and bus to play two shows a night in many of the same town halls and theaters where they had begun their career. No sound checks, no rehearsals, no security. Just the Rolling Stones on the road playing rock and roll. This is an account of this event that marked the end of the first chapter of the Stones' extraordinary career.
