Beyond awesome. I never would have believed British naval affairs of 1802 could be so engrossing. The actors, topnotch. The scenes of warships at sea are totally realistic and look much like paintings from that era. A lot of technology went into it - as explained in the commentary extras - but you would never guess it was anything but the real thing.

I just discovered the Horatio Hornblower DVD and Book.
the DVD found me glued to my TV night after night. This might be a guy type movie but as a woman I found it great and will now tackle the books.

It is interesting how a tv series can pique the interest of people who many never have heard of it and become completely engrossed Also I suggest you do view the details before the movie as it will help with the vocabulary of the time and other details about the wars costumes etc.
do not miss it.
