As I watched this typical juvenile, stupid comedy starring Jerry Lewis I was struck by my own maturation from a child who laughed uproariously at these antics to becoming a adolescent who tolerated Jerry and then into adulthood where he is looking so contrived that I am disgusted by an adult behaving this way and calling it comedy. Jerry Lewis was one smart guy who probably thought himself head and shoulders above those around him. In the Disorderly Orderly you can see that even Jerry sees his screen persona as ridiculously intolerable for normal intelligent people. I was going to rate this film one-half-star but the ambulance(s) out of control at the end of the picture saved it.
