I'm a longtime RPG geek. I'm a big fan of 5th Edition D&D. It hits a good balance between depth and accessibility that makes it enjoyable for established players, but easy to teach to new ones. I also like how 5th Edition emphasizes collaborative storytelling, probably the most out of any D&D edition. The recommended reading at the end of the book is also excellent.

5th edition D&D might be the best edition. It is certainly my favorite. BUY THIS BOOK!

5th Edition has been by far my favorite edition to play. Although my heart is still with Advanced, this edition is much more simple and just over all makes more sense.

D&D is BACK! ...Which I don't feel I even have the right to say, having started with 4th edition and loving it. But I now see what all the grognards were talking about and this first release for the 5th edition game is a return to form. Each class really does have a distinctly different feel (and a lot of really cool perks). Spellcasting is still a huge focus, but from what I understand of past editions, this version is much easier to use. And, finally, the highlight: BACKGROUNDS! There's actually a mechanical advantage to roleplaying and building a character who's more than just an avatar for yourself. I'm in love and can't wait for future 5th edition releases!
