Fabulous and up-to-date in the 2018 edition, including Trump's election and Brexit. Not so much a travel book as his perceptions of other countries and economies that he has visited. Great overview on Europe, as well as the Israel/Palestine dilemma.

Thoroughly enjoyed this book, this is much more than a travel book. He is a historian and so well traveled that he can give many insights that most tourists or travelers. He studies types of government, current affairs, culture and history and hits spots in his travels that are off the well beaten path. He talks to natives and finds out how their type of government works for them and asks them what their perception of ours is. I found this book very interesting and will probably check it out again as I didn't get to finish it and look up some of his other books. I enjoy his programs on NET and NPR.
