From Library Staff

"Unconventionally plotted, Lillian's tale is filled with lush details and cool observations about the twins of female freedom: contentment and compromise. A slim novel that feels just perfect - each thought measured, each syllable counted, a kind of haiku to an independent woman." (Kirkus)

A lovely, quiet read exploring the sensuality and various love affairs of a single lady from a certain era. For a reader who enjoys a slow-pace.

Disappointing, boring, couldn't wait for it to end. You would think that the author was writing from the perspective of a 75 yr old. I am almost 62 and could not relate to the old fashioned style of life that I surely did not experience in my life!
