This is one of four parenting books that I've read so far. The idea of using play to understand and connect with children is fantastic and the author had a lot of good ideas on how to do this. Although I enjoyed reading this book, I didn't finish it because I found it to be redundant. Since my oldest child is still an infant I can not speak to the effectiveness of these strategies. But I will keep them in mind for later.
