I know only that I didn't need to reach with my bare hands anymore. That seeing the fish beneath the surface was enough. That it was everything. My life -like all lives- mysterious, irrevocable and sacred, so very close, so very present, so very belonging to me. How wild it was, to let it be.

I've always been someone's daughter or mother or wife. I never got to be in the driver's seat of my own life.

Add a SummaryFrom the opening scenes: My father left my life when I was six. My mother died when I was twenty-two. In the wake of her death, my stepfather morphed from the person I considered my dad into a man I only occasionally recognized. This movie was way too slow for me. I didn't even finish it.
One woman's search for the meaning of life takes her on the Pacific Crest Trail, an 1100 mile hike for which she has no experience.
Stupid movie, with stupid actors, and movie completely unbelievable.
First she's a lying, cheating, drug addict. Then she decides she wants to go out in nature to find herself. She was still friends with her ex husband even though she slept with a lot of other men. What kind of worthless loser would still be friends with his ex after she screwed every man she talked to but him.
Not worth watching...
Expected more and found it wanting. Curious about the book.
Wild stars Reese Witherspoon as Cheryl Strayed, a woman that decides to walk a 1,100-mile hike alone on the Pacific Crest Trail on her journey to self discovery and healing after tragedy. Compared to the autobiographical book it portrays the events well and Reese Witherspoon was a great casting choice as well as Laura Dern who played Cheryl's mother. This movie can definitely be enjoyed by both readers of the book and lovers of good films.
Interesting, but not quite believable story. Lots of hardships and just a little loving.
My partner and I have been inspired to walk the PCT too after watching this movie (scenes of the movie is actually filmed on the beautiful PCT itself). We're now in full preparation :)
She had the balls to face her fears, and even more challenging, herself.
Less judge, more Love.
Meh. Book was way better.
I liked the book, although I got tired of the constant drugs and sex in unsafe circumstances, and felt the author positively wallowed in grief about her mother. So my expectations about the movie were low. That can be a good thing; in this case, it was. Expecting little, I thought it did a good job with the material. I'm glad I watched it.
Really boring movie! But some good scenery! Got to see Reese Witherspoon tits and ass too!
