Meningococcal disease is a serious, potentially fatal illness that impacts as many as 1,000 people each year. This clip includes vaccine recommendations to prevent the disease. UPDATE: the vaccine recommendations have changed since this clip was produced. The recommendation is still for the vaccine to be given and the age of 11 or 12 but now a booster dose should be given at the age of 16.
