"Susan, Esther, and Daisy started at university three weeks ago and became fast friends. Now, away from home for the first time, all three want to reinvent themselves. But in the face of hand-wringing boys, "personal experimentation," influenza, mystery-mold, nu-chauvinism, and the willful, unwanted intrusion of "academia," they may be lucky just to make it to spring alive. Going off to university is always a time of change and growth, but for Esther, Susan, and Daisy, things are about to get a little weird."--provided from

Fun, light reading. Gives a good sampling of British uni life.

The most amazing laugh-out-loud-in-public comic I've read in a while.

A good sampler of these characters, but a bit erratic in the storytelling, in my opinion. A fun jumbled look at university life.

I started to get this series because it was a free comic on FCBD last year, and I liked the premise of three friends in college just going about their drama-filled lives. There are things I appreciated about this first volume--the friendships portrayed, the quick banter and fun to read dialogue, the stylistic art, and the empowerment and flaws given to the main characters. But in the end, it feel flat and I probably won't read more in the series. The thing that bugged me most was that it's all over the place, so the pacing is way off and you never know, panel by panel, where they are or what the timeline is or where the action is going. In some ways that fit the story, as all three characters are somewhat chaotic themselves and experimenting with life, drugs, alcohol, and sex (or at least trying). But for me it was too much to process. I'm sure this will have great appeal to many, especially young women, but for me it was a miss.

I LOVE Giant Days. This series is cheeky, silly, and it's hard not to love the three leading ladies. Also it's a great look at college life and how things change when you leave home for the first time. Every volume offers such much humour. Definitely check it out if you haven't. :D

Three very different young women become friends while attending the same university. The delicate touches of humour and strong female characters will keep me coming back to this exciting new series.

I really enjoyed this graphic novel. Fun concept and very entertaining!

Delightful characters and a fun and engaging story, throw in a dash of feminism and you get some wonderful fun.
