"Dagger Ixur is on the run for his life. As one of the most recognizable members of his royal house, he has a bounty on his head that guarantees him no quarter from any friend or even family. But surrender isn't in him. He will fight to the bitter end. A resolve that is sorely tested when he narrowly escapes a trap that leaves him severely wounded. With what he believes is his dying breath, he saves a boy born to an extinct race from a group out to enslave the kid for his legendary abilities. Ushara Altaan has spent her entire life hating those born to nobility. After all, it was a royal house that drove her entire species into virtual extinction. As a rare Andarion Fyreblood, she is sworn to end the existence of any royal she finds. But when Dagger saves her son's life, she is torn between her people and a debt that can never be repaid. Yet worse than Dagger's family that's still out to end hers, are the League assassins after him who will stop at nothing to claim the lives of her Tavali family. The only hope she has to save them all is to put their future and her faith into the hands of the very enemy whose grandmother personally extinguished Ushara's legendary lineage. But how can she ever trust Dagger when he is a disinherited outlaw whose very name is synonymous with betrayal?--Provided by publisher.

Another winner from SK. I cried, I laughed until I cried and was on the edge on the edge of my seat a lot of the time. Oh, and I cursed at the hateful, ugly people, and I use the term "people" loosely. I loved all the characters except the "higher ups". I wanted them dead at least as much as Jullien did. Ushara was such a wonderful fit for Jullien, I loved her so much. When she and Jullien had the twins, they made me laugh until I cried. They were so precious. You most certainly won't go wrong with this novel. Just make sure you've got the time. It's 762 pages and so think I had to prop it on 2 pillows. "Uncle Arthur" isn't very forgiving. I ended up having to renew this in order to get it finished, but so worth it. I just love this author! I wish we could rate our great books more than just 5 stars, but I guess everyone knows that's the highest so, it's all good. Happy Reading!

This was my favorite League book to date, I laughed, I cried. I actually listened to the audio "highly recommend," when I realized who the book was about, completely floored me. I am so glad she wrote this one, lots of insight into all the previous books. Some very likeable characters in this one. Definately a 10!

One of the best books Sherrilyn has written so far. I enjoyed it thoroughly. Very in-depth, gives great understanding of the character. Turns a villain into a hero. I think that's what amazed me most.

I love reading the "Born of" series. This was a very enjoyable but a little confusing as it happened over a period of time where some of the other books have already taken place. Loved the story and build up. Highly recommend it.

I have to say I really enjoyed reading this book. I had tears in my eyes through most of it because of what Dagger had gone through from a little boy to an adult. Parents, and all family hurt him whenever they could. He finally met Ushara when he saved her son and his life began to change. Just when you think his life is good, something happens to mess him up again. I have read just about everything by Sherrilyn Kenyon and am a big fan. Outstanding book.
