The Passenger by Lisa Lutz is a wild ride from beginning to end. Tanya Dubois finds her husband dead at the bottom of the stairs. Although she had nothing to do with it, she’s worried her past will come back to haunt her if she doesn’t make a run for it. Cashing out her credit cards and changing her name, Tanya — now Amelia — hits the road. On her way she meets a female bartender named Blue, (more)

“This is a compulsively readable story of a young woman who has to keep switching identities and stay on the run. Is she a reliable narrator or not? What was the original event that sent her on the run? There is a lot of action and suspense as she tries to survive and evade the law while trying t... Read More »

Action packed thriller about a woman running from her past , assuming many identities , and ultimately going back to the beginning of her dilemma to solve her problem. Although very suspenseful, I thought the outcome was a little bit contrived. So-so but very entertaining.

It was very hard to put down. The action and suspense never let up. I finished it in one day. Not the sophisticated writing I am used to, nevertheless, a good read. I do love stories about women on the run from the bad guys! If you do, too, you would love Dean Koontz' Dark Rivers of the Heart.

it was ok, a bit sad and the ending seemed a bit unbelievable and hurried

I enjoyed this book. The 'surprise' was not that big a shock. Narration was very good.

An interesting story--fast-paced and exciting but with a small amount of believability issues.
A twist on the 'Gone Girl' genre.

I loved this story. On the run through no fault of hers, the main character finds herself covering her tracks across America. Using whatever means are to hand. Bit by bit the reader is told what has happened to Nora to set her on this path which can possibly only end in sadness. Highly recommended.

Read in one sitting. Terrific plot, characters, dialogue. Lutz's wit evident throughout. Loved it.

Read this in 2 days! Much better than Gone Girl because I actually liked and sympathized with the protagonist in this story. I was so hoping she'd get her happy ending.
