I read this book to fulfil the goal read a choose your own adventure book. omg...i hated it. i have never hated anything more than a graphic novel until now. i would rather read graphic novels for the rest of my life than this drivil. how do you know when you have read the whole thing when you keep dying every few pages. i did read through about 15-20 adventures. the whole book had a lot of crude sex references. not to mention the characters were super stupid. i don't mind the classic romeo and juliet, and i could see how this could be a potentially great book. i did look at each page in the book. by doing so i was able to find a special secret character, a mini graphic novel, and two more books entiled a mid summer nights choice and fair is foul and foul is fair. they weren't any better. i wasted entirely too much time on this book and i am finished.

It's fun...but it also feels like it's trying too hard. This book ascribes to the Mel Brooks-throw-every-joke-at-the-audience-and-if-it-misses-that’s-fine-cos-there’s-another-joke-already-there line of comedy. Exhaustingly relentless, which isn’t necessarily helped by the omnipotent narrator who intersperses the story with multiple exclamation marks and hah hah hahs and that Hark! A Vagrant! style humor. I riddled my copy with bookmarks to try and see every ending, so I did enjoy it for what it was, but at some point I realized I was skimming the story and just searching for the next page to turn to. At which point I decided I was probably done and had found my enjoyment. The art is easily the best part of this book. Each ending is accompanied by wonderful limited palette illustrations, and they’re perfectly charming and hysterical. Many good favorites are in there but I especially love Juliet’s naked dad running out to kill the creeper in the bushes, or sexy Romeo in his sexy guard disguise. I think Shakespeare himself would probably get a kick out of this format. It seems the sort of thing he’d be into.

The perfect way to read Romeo and Juliet with you choosing what should happen. Funny tale that will have you laughing out loud.

My inner child came alive when I picked up this comical choose-your-own-adventure version of Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet. North truly puts the reader in the driver's seat and allows them to navigate through the wild and whirling adventures of Romeo and Juliet. Filled with witty sarcasm, hyperbolic notions, and hilarious art work, this novel will leave you laughing out loud.

Glorious fun! And such a cool concept that harkens back to childhood days of adventure and laughter. Definitely not the Bard you grew up with or learned about in school. Penned by the genius who writes the Adventure Time comics, the voice is authentic and real; almost like having North as your own personal dungeon master!

This is NOT the Bard as you learned in school! 'Tis much more fun. The "chooseable-path" format (no trademarks were infringed in the making of this book) offers endless reading opportunities, but do not feel completely constrained by the rules of said format. The book works well as intended, but by flipping through and picking up plots as you will, the stories and art truly shine.
