The book "A Dark Truth" had a interesting theme. I enjoyed reading about two friends being close to each other because of skateboarding. Riley and Dashawn are very close friends. Both have much interest towards skateboarding. One night as they're filming Sponsor Me video's, Dashawn got discriminated in a very brutal way. After this incident Riley has a different prospective on living life. I liked how the book integrated a serious concern that occurs in today's society, which is colour discrimination. This book portrays being human to people and not judging them based on their appearance. The conflict in this novel occurred when Dashawn was treated in an unfair manner. The dynamic character was Riley. While reading I could imagine the imagery of many parts of the story. A reader who would enjoy the book would be someone who likes skateboarding. I would recommend this book to many people!

The next day he was not able to go to school. Riley came over to Dashawn and felt really sad for him. Then after few minutes Dashawn told him that he was moving due to what happened. Riley then decided to show his parents that there is racism in the country so he went to the same place and started to skate he then after he heard sirens suddenly he fell and got hurt. The police found him but instead they helped him up and told him nicely to go home while the black gets treated one way one the black is treated another way. everyone should be treated equally.
