A teenage girl stumbles into a secret workshop at the infamous Grosholtz Candle Factory. There, beneath the suffocating scent of Americana, she discovers a collection of wax sculptures that seem just a little too life-like-a suspicion that is later confirmed when one jumps naked and screaming out of the trunk of her car and into her life.

I love the campy snarky tone and the creepy backstory, and have such fond memories of melting color changing candles in straw covered bottom Chianti bottles. Okay, so I'm old.

A book full of dry humor with an unique plot. Girl struggles with image and confidence after an embarrassing event. She eventually discovers a massive secret that threatens to take over the town. Action packed with a solid "how you gonna fix it" theme. An extra star for the theme I have never heard of or read of in fiction: wax.
