No subtitles. The only words I could clearly hear were f**k and s**te. Too bad, because it could have been really funny.

Scottish actor (TRAINSPOTTING, FULL MONTY) Robert Carlyle's directorial debut. It's a macabre theater of the absurd with a barber about to be laid off involved in serial murder. What's delicious about the film is its look. Glasgow is a wonder to behold. Everything is saturated with color.

Wickedly funny.
Robert Carlyle did a good job on his role as Barney but Emma Thompson was "pure dead brilliant."

If you've got a dark sense of humor, and enjoy watching films from across the pond, with all the funny accents and slightly off-kilter social differences, then watch this film! It's crackers! I haven't seen anything this weird and grotesque and funny at the same time in quite a while. Not Fargo level great, but in that style; only Irish.
