I would have turned it off after 5 minutes if it weren't for the stunningly beautiful lead actress.

This fun, shlocky, genre-blend of a film succeeds in evoking a particular '60s B-movie, erotic-horror aesthetic but does it with a contemporary gaze. It has a a dreamy quality and some horror vibes, but manages to also elicit some incredulous laughs. Overall, I think this movie is a lot of fun.

A complete waste of time

This movie gets an "A" for replicating the French B movies of the 1960's by Jean Rollins. (When I was growing up in the 1970's heavily edited and dubbed versions of Rollins movies used to show late on Saturday nights on UHF channels, along with the more modest Hammer horror movies- yes compared to Rollins, Hammer is modest!)
Love Witch is basically a very good graduate film school project demonstrating the director's ability to duplicate Rollins and Hammer horror films of the 60's and 70's in story, editing, production design, set dressing, wardrobe, and hair and makeup. All style and no substance. I made myself watch it to the end because I kept hoping it would do something to engage me. It didn't. I did enjoy seeing Eureka, CA though, and the beautiful Victorian house Elaine lived in.

In all honesty, I don’t think this movie is too bad but it definitely isn’t the right movie for me. Elaine is a young and edgy witch who creates all these potions to get men to fall in love with her, until she messes up and has too many men lusting for her, eventually leading her to murder. I didn’t like this movie because I just don’t typically enjoy magic themed storytelling, especially when it is related to comedy or satire in some way like it is in this movie. I would rate this movie 3/5 stars, and recommend it to those who may actually get into the story-line and the characters. @The_Reviewer of the Hamilton Public Library Teen Review Board

this is a 2016 film trying to look like a 1960's film. Which I think it does a good job of looking like a 60's B rated movie. It would play well next to a Charles Manson of the time. Other then that pass it by

Loved it! Beautiful and intriguing.
If you like occult stuff and are a fan of artsy films and old horror you'll love it.

Ridiculous - worse than b movies. You'll definitely swear for wasting your time on this cheese pile.

I really wanted to like this movie. The coloring and style is a great homage to 70's grind-house movies. The feminist dialogue was often intentionally hilarious. However is dragged on way too long.
