An excellent movie! I love how two really great actors are able to carry this entire movie from start to finish. The couple of questions of "how would he know how to do that?" were actually answered in the deleted scenes - one of the few times I think they should have rethought what hit the cutting room floor.

In the first 30 minutes there is a glimmer of hope that this movie might raise and address interesting questions about technology. Once Jennifer Lawrence is roused from her hibernation chamber though PASSENGERS descends into vapid teenage romance. The viewer is allowed to ogle over many shots of Lawrence's booty and bosom and Chris Pratt's biceps and buttocks. The fantasy here is to be traveling through space at one-half light speed aboard a luxury hotel with lots of cute robots to serve you all while getting your ashes hauled by a gorgeous guy or gal (depending upon your sexual preference).

Short on sci-fi with large doses of romance. If you check out your logical brain and just watch the movie with your emotional brain, this would have been a good movie.

Really interesting premise -- and the coolest space ship ever.

And points for simulating gravity by rotating the ship, though you'll chuckle when the rotation mysteriously stops just because the engine conks out. But the compensation is that we get a fascinating look at what a swimming pool looks like at zero-G. (Note to director: one can still swim through weightless water. Just FYI.)

The film's most bothersome flaw is that the two lead actors are operating on vastly different levels of artistic competence. Hollywood has here leashed an eagle to a turtle. She's terrific; he's awful. You watch him, but you feel her. He leaves you comfortably outside the story; she pulls you into it.

Worth a watch? Oh, yeah. Four stars.

Enjoyable film with few characters. Not sure I buy all the SF stuff at the end (solving the problems) as it seemed too simple. Fun to watch.

Love story in space travel - just wonder why they did not make any children on the space ship?
Looking at the huge trees at the end that have grown inside the ship, the kids could have greeted the ships awakened crew before landing at the new planet!

Like many other people I heard the negative reviews but I can't pass up a Jennifer Lawrence sci-fi flick. I actually really enjoyed this movie, which is, at its heart, a love story.

sort of watchable. i usually like these actors but the acting was subpar and the story was not that interesting.

Despite some negative reviews, I took a chance on Passengers, and was pleasantly surprised. The movie was advertised incorrectly, as its main plot is one of isolation, creepy obsession and stunning visuals, instead of the action-filled space thriller the trailer promised.

In the past, caveman clubs woman on the head and got himself a mate. In the future, spaceman re-animate woman out of time and got himself a mate for life. Meh, somethings never change.
