Well written, not too long, Joe paints pictures with his words. Many interesting details about what he did as vice president and how he felt. Encouraged me to vote for him for president if he runs.
This is the guy who called WikiLeaks' Julian Assange an international terrorist, while proclaiming that the Egyptian dictator, Mubarak, was NOT a dictator?
And his son, Beau, when he was attorney general of Delaware, proclaimed that the du Pont family member who was convicted of sexually assaulted his two-year-old and three-year-old children, shouldn't have to serve any prison time, that an 8-year parole was justifiable?
Like father, like son, so they say . . . . [and sometimes, // they \\ are correct].
And Biden also, just several weeks before the 2017 presidential election, went before the Council on Foreign Affairs and promised them somehow or other he would get that TransPacific Partnership passed - - a real man of the people?!?!?
And Joe, as a senator, voted for that Bush bankruptcy bill, making the law that students COULDN'T declare bankruptcy to discharge any onerous [and frequently useless] student loans - - thanks, Joe! [That legislation also gave primary preference to the bondholders - - or super-rich - - in collecting any and all debt!]
And Joey's other son [always forget that character's name] drank at the taxpayers' trough when he was granted a position as a Public Affairs Officer in the US Naval Reserve [meaning no training required, automatic appointment] which meant an exemption, since Joey's #2 son was normally too old, and which, after receiving too many months' of pay, was finally kicked out after flunking each and every drug test administered [loser cokehead].
Yup, the saintly Joe Biden . . . .
Heartbreaking story of Joe Biden losing his son (Beau Biden) to brain cancer. Biden writes the book starting from the diagnosis of the disease and how the family supports Beau through his cancer treatment and then to end of Beau's journey .Managing to be in the white house during the day and at various hospitals for Beau's treatment. A nightmare for any parent but a schedule that takes special handling if your VP.
No parent wants to join the grieving parent club. No parent wants to lose a child to terminal illness or accident or act of violence. V.P. Joe Biden lost his first wife and daughter in a car accident early in his career. His son Beau recently died from cancer.
The book is based on an extraordinary promise that Beau extracted from his dad: "Give me your word, Dad, that you're going to be all right. Promise me, Dad." Although it was inordinately challenging for the Biden family to keep this promise, their phenomenal bond of faith, love, and strength got them through the depths of sorrow and grief.
This book is a gift of empathy, comfort, and inspiration.
