I have read Gretchen Rubin's earlier books and enjoyed them. However, I was rather skeptical when she postulated here that the world can be divided into four types of people - Obligers, Questioners, Upholders, and Rebels. As I read along I found myself agreeing with her and had a great time analyzing myself and others I knew. The strength of this book lies not only in identifying the tendency you are, but also learning how to deal with people based on your own tendency and theirs. I would highly recommend this book as a keeper.

I thought the book excellent, one that delivered on its promise.

The book provides a perspective of human interaction from the point of view four clear characteristics, which rang true to me. It suggests common sense ways to apply the knowledge to yourself and others with whom you deal with. The book doesn't make over the top claims. It's a book that many might find helpful.

A helpful book in not only showing you the strengths and weaknesses of your own tendency, but, even better, helping you to see how to relate to people who have different tendencies. I came away with useful information on understanding and getting along with friends and family and coworkers who are wired differently.

Oh. My. Gosh. I was reading this book and I saw myself and then my children. The absolute best part about this book is it suggests small ways to adjust your interactions with others (if you know their tendency) to help life and/or work flow more smoothly. And the neat thing is that all the suggestions you can also apply to yourself as well. Highly recommended!
