The art and story are super cute! The novel was about two thirds world set up then somehow managed to shove like three plots in the final third. It's a short read and very enjoyable.

Very short, adorable. Like the art style. It feels like a book within a series?

It's a quick read but a lovely tale of a gardener who can see ghosts, and what needs to be done so their world doesn't end. Yes, that sounds quite dramatic, but it ends well for everyone. Great art and good LGBTQ content

Story is original and execution is pretty standard. Art is good with minor issues. Nice quick read.

Such a sweet, beautiful story. I love the care behind this book and look forward to more by this author and artist.

"Bury your gays"? Uh-uh, nope. Resurrect your gays, tell them you love them, and be in a wholesome, gorgeous short story with them!
Cute without being cloying, I can't recommend this one enough.

This story is very cute. It's fast-paced, sweet, and a little bit creepy. The plot is simple and it doesn't have much to it but, as I said for a previous book, that simplicity leaves a lot of breathing room for the characters' romance. It's not to heavy and not too light, just "in-between" and a nice evening delight. Highly recommend it for those looking for a story to warm their hearts, rather than to get sucked into an in-depth, crazy and full ride :D.

That was really cute. Blue is a ghost who is in love with Hamal, a gardener who can see ghosts. Blue keeps disappearing to a weird forest and that turns out to be not a good thing. While there ate high stakes here the story never loses its feeling of whimsy and cute. Seriously this is just adorable and you need to read it.

Taproot is a simple but sweet story. The author in her notes said she wanted "brightness, a little creepiness, and a lot of heart." This she does well. The illustrations are wonderful and clear, yet still dense. The characters are all sweet, even the "reaper." It has a little bit of creepy, but it's definitely not spooky or scary. Lots of bugs. And the relationship of Hamal and Blue is easy. Almost too easy. There's no real angst, and my one complaint is that the story could have moved a little slower. We need time to really get to know Hamal and Blue and the other characters. Know their fears, hopes, suffering and triumphs. But this all felt a little easy. Hamal sees ghosts, must help ghost, and is now a ghost hunter. With no real suspense or tension. I get that she wanted a lighthearted and fun story, and it is that. But I want a little more characterization.
