The photos are nice enough that people interested in mushroom pics might find something in what is otherwise a total catastrophe. I draw your attention to say ‘look out, danger, stay away!’ Reading for content you will note that the author advises to you to eat Hydnellum suaveolens immediately after collecting, which species he describes as not edible on the previous page. (Reliable literature says ‘edibility unknown.’) ‘Foraging’ fails to be helpful or realistic in other respects, but the most dangerous actual aspect may be the mushroom recipes included. I shudder to think of chanterelles disappearing down a gullet so tone deaf as to throw soy sauce on them, or an imagination monstrous enough to conceive of ‘Taco Pizza’ page 57. Not content to lead them to their doom, he must ruin the pride and deaden the souls of the gullible with foul concoctions. My consolation is that he must chomp porcinis so larvae-infested that even the bugs get queasy. Who would have thought the end times would be like this?
