First off, there isn't anything new in this book. We aren't given any real "insider" information; it's all been said in the press (if you've been paying attention).

Secondly, there is an inherent contradiction in the book. Either Trump is ignorant, wilful, and reckless, and the "Steady State" is protecting America from his worst excesses, *OR* (XOR, if you will) he's flawed but with fundamentally sound principles, and the "Steady State" is helping him to achieve good things. You can't have it both ways.

The book is nicely and even entertainingly written, but it's definitely not important.

Anonymous—a Senior Trump Administration Official—writes a warning to fellow Americans about re-electing Donald Trump again in 2020, citing his character and his misunderstanding of the most basic civics and history.

Writer clearly knows civics and begins each chapter summarizing the origins of our democratic values. Found this interesting; the litany of Trump’s failures and misdeeds will not shed new light if you’re a reader of well-balanced news sources. Author sees our choice as one to make at the ballot box. Glad I read this.

I for one have always gotten my political advice from Ringo and Hoyt.

This is the kind of mind who believes that Hitler was a bad person, but doesn't have anything against Stalin. Do any of these reviewers understand the Deep State? For remedial help in a musical form, i recommend you listen to an old song called OH MY MY, by ex-Beatles drummer, Ringo Starr, and written by Hoyt Axton. You could get worse advice from others, and you probably already have!

When authors like Michael Shaara write books about real historical events, they are classified by the library world as "historical fiction" because they include words and thoughts of historical persons that cannot be confirmed. But when some unidentified person who purportedly works within the administration of President Trump writes a book "anonymously" it is classified as "non-fiction."

If this "author" really is so outraged by what he/she/they/them is seeing and hearing while at work, this person should resign from that employment and step forward. Without the identity and credentials of the author, trust is unearned. Otherwise, it is just "fake news" and shouldn't be given any more credence than National Enquirer reports of President Obama visiting with extraterrestrial beings. And I am glad I don't need to spend money for this- free from the library is the right price and it is worthy of the time I give the National Enquirer at the grocery check-out line.

If you’ve been following any of the news, then there’s nothing you didn’t already know. If this person and the “others” in the administration are so concerned, then they should stop protecting and enabling what’s going on. He/she concludes by saying we need to vote him out of office — duh!

I read this as it seemed that a "Senior Official" in the administration would have some new information on events that have unfolded inside the Trump White House.... I was sorely disappointed. This is just a rehash of everything we have already heard.... It appears that someone else is just attempting to cash in on the rash of books that have been put out in the last three years that all go over and over the same stories with nothing new to say... This book was BORING.... I am glad I was able to get a copy from a library and read it for free as it would have been a total waste of money to purchase...
