To the Guatemalan government, Canadian lay missionary Raoul Leger was a dangerous revolutionary. To the local Maya, he was a hero. And to Cleola and Andrea Leger, he was a brother. In this program, Raoul's sisters go to Guatemala seeking the elusive truth behind his murder 20 years earlier. During their travels, they gain valuable insights into that country's 35-year civil war, the indomitable spirit of the Maya, and the love and dedication of one man for his flock. State-sponsored terrorism and CIA involvement in the civil war are also addressed. In addition, forensic evidence gathered after Raoul's exhumation is presented, refuting the official claim of how exactly he died. (71 minutes)
