This is an interesting book. There are parts in this book that are relatable to me since I am a middle child. The only thing I don’t like about the book is that it focuses on the stereotypical middle child. I just wish that they showed a diverse perspective of the middle child. I am a middle child myself and none of these things happen to me. As a middle child I kind of take it offensive when they show a middle child like this because people that aren’t a middle child they think that these bad things happen to us when they don’t. Also, it deals with some very serious social issues facing our kids (bullying, sibling rivalry, even the death of a parent). The book says it is for 8-12 years old. But I think that kids that age are too young to be exposed to Charlie being angry, reacting to events without really thinking of the consequences, associating with other computer hackers and is more concerned about what she is wearing rather than how she is interacting with her family and others. Overall I am not too sure about liking this book, I have mixed emotions. 2/5 Stars. @TheBookWorm of the Hamilton Public Library Teen Review Board

There’s a lot of birth order stereotyping in the two books. They’re not necessarily true for everyone, but overall I loved this book! The narrator is/was a bully. She had insecurities but becomes a hero by the end of the second book. It shows the good side of her, that she’s somehow good on the inside... it’s just that she seemed too people pleasing and cared too much about popularity at school. At the very end, the most bullied girl changes her life and viewpoint.
